Which Will Registry?

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

This is a letter the Certainty National Will Register has received from a member of the public.

I’m set on registering my Will with a Will Registry but there seems to be a few to choose from which has somewhat confused me. The one that seems to have the strongest links with the legal profession stands out as being the Certainty one. Their chairman is a former Law Society President who apparently is keen to see everyone in the UK writing and registering a Will.

My Will is registered on the National Will Register!

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

This is a letter the Certainty National Will Register has received from a member of the public.

I’ve already got a Will in existence and I’ve just discovered that there is a National Will Register website that will allow me to register my Will with them for absolutely no charge to myself! There must be a catch or a hidden fee somewhere surely? On visiting the site, I put their claims to the test of registering within 60 seconds and found them to be true. Registration was quick and easy even for someone who is slow on a keyboard like me!

Find a will writing solicitor

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

This is a letter the Certainty National Will Register has received from a member of the public.

I was about to write a Will and discussing it in the pub with my pal who said the adverts I’d seen to write my will for £39.50 were probably the same firm that he’d seen in the paper who are actually not solicitors. He suggested that I should find a will writing solicitor.

Using a National Will Register

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

This is a letter the Certainty National Will Register has received from a member of the public.

Although I’m only relatively ‘young’, as I’ve got children, have various life assurance policies and own a house, I’ve decided to arrange to have my Will written to safeguard my family. I’ve just read about the National Will Register ‘Certainty’ and after reading about the benefits it can bring I’m going to select a solicitor in my area through their website so as members they will be able to sign me up as part of the Will Writing process.

Lasting powers of attorney

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

This is a letter the Certainty National Will Register has received from a member of the public.

I recently set up a business with two other people and have been currently completing the standard formalities that one undertakes to officially form the company. Trying to control the controllables leaves me to outline the purpose in my situation of a lasting power of attorney which I feel is most relevant in these times of economic uncertainty, stress and anxiety for business owners.

This is a letter the Certainty National Will Register has received from a member of the public.

So we finally get our Will sorted and can breathe a sigh of relief but where can we store it so it’s easily found? A Will can be easily lost if kept in the home as often happens when people move house, for example. There is also the added question of security; do you want other members of your family to have access to your Will?

How do I locate a lost Will?

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

This is a letter the Certainty National Will Register has received from a member of the public.

My Grandmother recently died and to add to what’s been a very upsetting time for the whole family, we haven’t been able to locate her lost Will. My Father seems to think that he recalls her writing Will years ago but we haven’t been able to find it. We’ve checked with the last solicitor she used but they have no record of it.

How do I write a new Will?

Friday, April 10th, 2009

This is a letter the Certainty National Will Register has received from a member of the public.

While it is possible for a person to make a Will, this can lead to problems such as the Will not being valid.  A Will made without legal advice may mean that property will not pass as the deceased intended. It is far safer, and usually easier, to see a solicitor, who will find out how you want your assets to be dealt with and write a new will.  They will then advise as to the appropriate type of Will and other matters that you may wish to take into consideration.
