Certainty.co.uk, the UK’s first fully electronic online register of wills has received an overwhelming response from Coventry based solicitors during its first week of launch in the region.
Certainty is currently launching throughout the UK and is exclusively for use by solicitors, STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and the public. All of Certainty’s Founder Membership places in the Coventry region were taken in the first week of release.
Certainty.co.uk allows a member of the public to record the details of the solicitor’s office where a will is held. Certainty ensures that when your will is needed, a family member can locate the relevant solicitors office quickly and easily, reducing the distress and potential financial loss caused through a missing, lost or unknown will.
Certainty’s chairman past Law Society President Kevin Martin considers a register to be a vital aid for the legal profession and an essential ‘must do’ for a member of the public. Kevin Martin comments, “I’m delighted to see Certainty being welcomed into Coventry so quickly with its key firms committing to the register through Founder Membership. From the public surveys we conducted, it was obvious that there was an unmet need for a register of this nature. People do lose wills through the passage of time. More and more people are also falling into the grey area of DIY wills or wills written by people not professionally trained to write a will. Certainty’s solicitor enquiry service allows the public instant access to a local will writing solicitor who can write and register their will to ensure total peace of mind now and for the future.”
